Year 1 2019 - 2020

Mrs Hutchinson

Miss Toole

Miss Lowe

Welcome to Year 1

May I take this opportunity to welcome to Year 1. I am looking forward to continuing our learning journey with your children at St George’s The Year1 team consists of Mrs Hutchinson, Miss Toole and Mrs Lowe. We welcome Miss Whitley who is our student two days a week. We are all looking forward to an exciting year ahead.

In our class we work and play together, helping each other to achieve our very best. We try really hard to work independently, persevere and aim high! We enjoy learning practically, exploring new topics and having fun!

Year 1 is a transition year as we start the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum, but we aim to make this as smooth as possible.  Year 1 is a mixture of children learning through play and more formal tasks which will evolve by the end of the year, so they are prepared for Year 2.

If you’d like to find out more about each term’s topics, please follow the links. There are links bellow for you to support your child’s learning at home.

Thank you for all your continued support. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to come into school and see me.
